Services ANd programs

Therapeutic Services

Occupational Therapy (OT): Focuses on helping children develop the skills needed for daily living, such as self-care, fine motor skills, sensory integration, and independent play.

Speech and Language Therapy: Supports communication, speech articulation, language development, and social interaction skills. May also address alternative communication methods like AAC devices and American Sign Language.

Physical Therapy (PT): Aims to improve physical abilities such as balance, coordination, strength, and mobility, helping children achieve physical milestones.

Recreational Therapy (RT): Incorporates fun and enjoyable activities like adapted sports, swimming, dancing, and more to target specific therapeutic goals. It can help improve functioning in various domains like physical health, emotional regulation, and social interaction.

Behavioral Therapy (ABA): Applied Behavior Analysis to support children with behavioral challenges by developing positive behaviors and reducing harmful or disruptive ones. Can include social skill development and emotional regulation.

Play Therapy: Uses structured play activities to help children express emotions, improve social skills, and resolve psychosocial issues in a safe environment.

Counseling and Emotional Support: Offers emotional and psychological support to children dealing with anxiety, stress, or emotional challenges related to their disabilities. Family and parent counseling are also available.

Educational Services

  • Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Each child’s learning is guided by a personalized IEP, which targets their specific educational needs and goals, ensuring tailored learning approaches.
  • Inclusive Learning Environment: Small class sizes, specialized teachers, and support staff that create an inclusive and adaptive learning environment.
  • Specialized Curriculum: Tailored to the needs of the child. Academic AM or PM and therapy AM or PM. Academics may include reading, math, science, social studies with life skills such as money management, social skills, etc.
  • Assistive Technology: Use of adaptive technology such as computers, AAC devices, and interactive learning tools to help children communicate and engage with the curriculum.
  • Social and Emotional Learning (SEL): Programs aimed at helping children develop emotional intelligence, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
  • Extracurricular Programs: Offer creative arts, sports, music, which encourage self-expression and peer interaction.

Family Services

  • Family Involvement Programs: Regular updates, meetings, and collaborative opportunities to ensure parents and caregivers are involved in their child’s progress. This can include parent training sessions, resource sharing, and support groups.
  • Workshops and Seminars: Offer educational workshops for parents and caregivers to learn how to support their child’s learning and development at home.

transition services

  • School-to-Life Transition Programs: As children grow older, focus on preparing them for adulthood by teaching life skills, vocational training, and community integration.
  • Career Counseling & Vocational Training: For older students, provide support to transition to employment or higher education, including job readiness training and internships.

Field Trips and Social Outings: Regular community trips that help children practice social skills, learn about their environment, and engage with the community in meaningful ways.

Partnerships with Local Schools and Organizations: Collaborations with local businesses and nonprofits to create inclusive activities and opportunities for children to practice real-world skills.

REFERRALS

Multidisciplinary Assessments: Help families access a team of professionals (psychologists, neurologists, etc.) for comprehensive evaluations of their child’s needs.

Collaboration with Medical Professionals: Provide coordination with external medical providers, specialists, and therapists to ensure all aspects of the child’s care are integrated.

Resource Navigation: Guidance on accessing state and local resources, financial aid, disability services, and more.

Advocacy Support: Assistance with understanding your child's rights in education, guidance for IEP meetings, and support in advocating for appropriate accommodations and services.

Financial Planning Assistance: Workshops on financial planning for long-term care, insurance options, and how to manage the costs of therapies and special education.
